KILL THE THRILL


Formed in 1989, KILL THE THRILL's founding members are Nicolas Dick on vocals, guitar and lap-steel, and Marylin Tognolli on bass, joined by various musicians over the years. Stemming from the French noisy wave of the early 90s, their music is often described as abrasive and hypnotic, with a dense sound featuring multiple layers and moods, mixing elements of post-punk and post-rock to create an atmosphere as dreamlike as it is chaotic, with orchestrated sounds.

The band released its first album in 1993, DIG, followed by an EP, PIT (on the Noise Product CH/Semetary labels). In 1996, the trio became a duo with a second album entitled LOW (Noise Product CH). The album was hailed by the press as a perfect balance between melody and saturation. 203 BARRIERS, released by Season Of Mist in 2001, was another trio album. With this new opus, the band's music evolves towards a more daring and mature sound. TELLURIQUE, released in 2005 (Season Of Mist), combines hardened post-rock with a post-rock sensibility, bathed in an atmosphere akin to the hazy, distorted haze of shoegazers.

니콜라스 딕은 1989년 킬 더 스릴을 설립했습니다. 90년대 초 프랑스의 노이즈 웨이브에서 비롯된 그의 음악은 여러 층과 분위기로 구성된 밀도 높은 사운드로 연마적이고 최면적인 것으로 묘사되곤 합니다.

이러한 포스트 록 요소의 혼합은 오케스트레이션된 사운드와 함께 혼란스러우면서도 몽환적인 분위기를 자아냅니다.

처음에는 트리오로 결성된 이 밴드의 라인업은 수년에 걸쳐 진화해 왔습니다. 2024년 1월에 다섯 번째 앨범인 Autophagie가 발매되었고, 이후 진행된 투어에서는 네 명의 뮤지션이 함께 무대에 올랐습니다.

2025년 투어에서는 초창기처럼 니콜라스 딕이 보컬과 기타를 맡고 줄리앙 로보가 세컨드 기타를 맡는 듀오로 돌아갔습니다. 킬 더 스릴은 듀오로 복귀함으로써 음악의 진정성과 일관성을 더 잘 살릴 수 있는 일관성을 찾았습니다.
